Notice of Destruction of Special Education Records 2025

In accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 603 CMR 23.06 (3), the Framingham Public Schools will be destroying records of special education students who graduated, transferred, withdrew, or aged out as of June 2017 and June 2018.

 

Special Education records collected by the Framingham Public Schools related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or provision of Special Education in the district must be maintained in accordance with state and federal laws for a period of 7 years after Special Education services end for the student. Special Education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, moves from the district, or completes their educational program at age 22.


Students who wish to receive their personal special education files should call the Department of Special Education at (508) 626-9123 between 9 am and 3 pm Monday through Friday, no later than November 14, 2025. Files will be made available for pick-up from November 17,  2025, to November 21, 2025.  A state-issued form of identification will be required to retrieve records.
