How to Apply for Preschool in FPS

Early Education at Framingham Public Schools offers Preschool learning opportunities at our BLOCKS/Juniper Hill Preschool location for children who will be 3 years old by August 31st. Enrollment is ongoing for 3 year old children who are identified to receive special education services.

Curriculum and instruction is based on half day programming. The Preschool inclusion classes meet for 2.5 hours per day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. There are no classes on Wednesdays.

If you suspect your child may have a disability in any area, including: learning, social, language or gross/fine motor development, a Special Education Screening will assist in determining if further/formal assessment of skills in any area is warranted. Screenings take place at BLOCKS Preschool at 29 Upper Joclyn Ave and take approximately 45 minutes.

If you would like to schedule a preschool screening, please contact: Donna Angus at (508) 782-6990 or email: dangus@framingham.k12.ma.us.

This tuition based program runs from September 2025 - June 2026. Interested families are invited to submit the Preschool Intake Form (linked below) and will need to meet eligibility criteria for acceptance.

BLOCKS

ogo for BLOCKS with colorful blocks spelling 'B-L-O-C-K-S' and the phrase 'Building Learning Opportunities for Children's Kindergarten Success' below.

BLOCKS Preschool promotes a flexible atmosphere that considers children individually and as members of a group. Our program provides a variety of resources that address children's particular interests, needs and levels of development.

Learning through play, development of self-concept, the growth of language and respect for others will be fostered in order to maximize future school success. The ultimate goal of this program is to instill in children a curiosity about their world and a hunger to learn.

The general goals of our program include:

  • to develop children's understanding and use of language
  • to teach children the skills to explore, question and investigate
  • to develop early readiness and pre-academic skills
  • to foster children's self-esteem
  • to encourage children to work positively and effectively with others
  • to support the parents' role as a child's first teacher at home
