Updates from our Director

Dear Families,

In another week is the Spring vacation break and there will be no school for all FPS students. Hopefully "Mother Nature" will give us some beautiful weather for those of us who are staying in this area. If you are going away....we wish you safe travels.

Once warmer spring weather arrives, teachers will use our outdoor areas for learning experiences, nature walks, snack/lunch picnics and of course....playground fun!  Therefore, please remember to dress your children in layers so they can enjoy the cooler morning temperatures as well as warmer afternoon sun.  If your child needs sunblock, please apply it before coming to school. Water bottles with your child's name clearly labeled on it would be very helpful for children to have available to fill up at our water filling station and stay hydrated. Your help is greatly appreciated....THANK YOU!

We hope you all enjoy a safe and healthy spring break with family and friends beginning Friday, April 18th (Good Friday holiday) and through Friday April, 25th (Spring Recess week)

Sincerely,

Rosario Alvarez, Director

It’s always a great time of year when the cold winter weather ends and spring finally appears…unless you suffer from seasonal allergies. Seasonal allergies, also called allergic rhinitis or “hay fever” are very common and can be rather unpleasant and difficult to manage. An estimated 7.1 million kids in the United States report environmental allergies. Seasonal allergies can hit at various times of the year. In the spring, flower and tree pollen are common culprits. Grass pollen starts in late spring and peaks in the summer months. Weed pollen (such as ragweed) and mold spores plague kids mainly in the late summer and fall. Please consult with your pediatrician if your child is showing symptoms of seasonal allergies. It is very difficult to focus and learn when little bodies don't feel their best. Your doctor may suggest over-the-counter or prescription medications to help ease these symptoms (Stuffy/runny nose, watery/ itchy eyes, cough, sore throat, and headaches).

In addition, they can cause poor sleep, increased ear and sinus infections, and asthma exacerbations. Allergies should never cause crusting in the eyes or fever. Please keep your child home if they experience either of those and call your pediatrician for a consultation.

I hope everyone has a safe and healthy April 💗 Nurse Nicole

Picture Retake Day!

Picture Retake Day will be on Tuesday, April 29th. If your child was absent on Picture Day or if you would like your child's picture retaken, please let your child's teacher know that you would like their picture taken that day. If you are having your child's picture retaken, you must return the undamaged portrait package to the photographer that day. If you have any specific instructions for the photographer, please jot them down so they show through the envelope window and can be easily spotted.

Retake packages will be distributed at the school approximately 3-5 weeks after Retake Day.

Lost and Found Items - Please Check!

We're reaching out to let you know that we have a number of lost and found items currently at BLOCKS. We encourage you to check if your child might have misplaced anything. To help us reunite students with their belonging, please ensure that all items are clearly labeled with your child's name. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us reunite students with their belongings!

Last Tuition Payment

For most people, April is the last month of tuition. It is imperative that you send your payment, if you have not already done so. Families who started later in the year and have not paid a deposit will also receive an invoice later in the month for their last payment due May 1st. If you have any questions relating to your account, please email Rhaira Pratt rpratt@framingham.k12.ma.us

B.L.O.C.K.S. Preschool promotes a flexible atmosphere that considers children individually and as members of a group. Our program provides a variety of resources that address children's particular interests, needs and levels of development.

Learning through play, development of self concept, the growth of language and respect for others will be fostered in order to maximize future school success. The ultimate goal of this program is to instill in children a curiosity about their world and a hunger to learn.
